LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. - A woman biking across the country to raise money for at-risk children continued her journey Wednesday morning.
With a police escort, Lori Salierno took off from Lee’s Summit a little after 6:30 a.m.
Salierno is riding from Washington State to Atlanta, Ga. It’s a 13-state, 3,000-mile venture that she hopes can help 10,000 children across the world.
According to her website, www.challengethecycle.com , she has already raised more than $147,000 as of Wednesday morning. Her goal is $300,000.
