LIBERTY, Mo. - It was a great day for a car wash on Saturday in Liberty, in more ways than one.
People who lined up at the Dr. Spotless Car Wash Saturday afternoon got their car cleaned and made a difference to an infant boy hundreds of miles away.
Little Levi Ewing, whose father works at 41 Action News, is fighting a brain tumor just one year into his young life.
His family has up and left everything in Liberty to help their son fight and recover at Saint Jude Hospital in Memphis.
Family friend Denise Fair said she organized the event for one purpose.
"It's hard enough to be there and care for your child when they're going through a tough time like this, they shouldn't have to worry about the finances also," Fair said. "We wanted to do what we could to bless them."
Saint Jude said survival rates for childhood cancer have gone from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened, to almost 80 percent Saturday.
If you'd like to donate to the Levi Ewing Fund, you can send donations in care of his fund at any Community America Bank.
