NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. - North Kansas City has a new police chief, the city announced in a news release Wednesday afternoon.
Steve Beamer, a 34-year veteran of the force, has been chosed to head the city’s department.
“I am proud of this organization and the men and women who serve with it,” Chief Beamer said in a news release. “I look forward to working with the citizens and businesses of the city to help keep it a safe and vibrant community.”
In addition to serving as the commander of the patrol division, Beamer has also held the role of detective, sergeant and captain, the release said.
Beamer graduated from North Kansas City High School. He attended the University of Central Missouri, where he received a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice administration. He received his master’s in public administration degree from Park University.
