PLATTE COUNTY, Missouri - The Platte County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman found dead near the Platte Falls Conservation Area earlier this month.
On June 1, a fisherman discovered 22-year-old Alissa Faye Shippert’s body along the Platte River.
Shippert, of Platte City, grew up in the Weston area and was a graduate of West Platte High School. She had worked at a local convenience store for more than five years at the time of her death, according to the Platte County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators believe she was fishing in the area sometime between May 30 and June 1.
Earlier this week, members of the Missouri State Water Patrol Dive Team searched the bottom of the Platte River Wednesday for evidence in her death.
Shippert’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
The Platte County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to call the Tips Hotline at (816)474-TIPS. A reward is being offered through the TIPS program.
