PLATTE CITY, Mo. - A northland man previously charged with first degree murder is now facing additional charges, the Platte County Prosecutor said Tuesday.
Quintin O’Dell, 23, faces an additional count of sexual assault against a 21-year-old woman in December of 2011. During that assault, the O’Dell is accused of cutting open the woman’s abdomen, causing her intestines to fall out.
The new charges did not go into detail except alleging that O’Dell had deviate sexual intercourse with the woman prior to the assault.
O’Dell’s previously announced murder charge is for the May 31, 2011 death of Alyssa Shippert, who was later found along the shore of the Platte River the next day.
His next court date is set for July 17.
