PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. - The South Platte Ambulance District has taken on a new ambulance service.
The district announced plans to end its contract with the Kansas City Fire Department last week. It has decided to go with American Medical Response.
AMR is based out of Independence, Mo.
South Platte officials said they were not satisfied with KCFD's reponse time - and that AMR is cheaper.
AMR will take over service on Oct. 1.
