PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. - A Smithville, Mo., woman died Tuesday, one day after she was struck head-on in a collision on Highway 92 in rural Platte County.
Just after 9 p.m. Monday, emergency crews were called out to the intersection of Highway 92 and Second Creek Road for a two-car crash.
Platte County Sheriff crash investigators determined that a Saturn, driven by Ashley Miller, 25, of Smithville, was traveling eastbound when she was struck by a Pontiac, driven by Logan Pope, 17.
Pope in the eastbound lanes attempting to make a pass when in the incident occurred.
Both Pope and Miller were transported to an area hospital, where Miller later died. Pope remains at the hospital.
