BLUE SUMMIT, Mo. - After more than 10 hours on the scene, police were still investigating a suspicious package found on a bus in Blue Summit, Mo., on Friday morning.
Authorities said the bus was parked at First Transit, 8400 E. Truman Rd. About a dozen law enforcement officials are near the scene, including the ATF and Independence Bomb Squad.
The bus driver saw the suspicious package and called police. Federal agents, National Guard and bomb squad crews were on-scene.
No passengers were on board at the time and the driver was not injured.
Authorities also said they used robots to investigate the suspicious device as well as crews in blast suits.
As of 10:10 p.m. on Friday, the scene was shutting down and the threat was removed.
