RAYTOWN, Mo. - The Raytown Police Department is warning of a man posing as a water company employee who is robbing houses in the area.
On Thursday, Overland Park police warned of the same scam.
Independence police are also reporting similar incidents.
The suspect said the water needed to be turned off under a sink, police said in a statement.
The suspect is described as between 40 and 50-years-old, wearing a ball cap, jeans and possible a denim shirt. He was seen getting into a dark green Ford Taurus.
Police advise residents to always ask for identification before letting anyone into your home.
