The DIRECTV website is down during the first Sunday of the football season.
An error message posted on the website reads, "We're making improvements to maximize your online experience." It does not specify when the issue will be resolved.
At about 12:45 CT the company tweeted, "Service alert: Some customers may experience issues attempting to login to http://DIRECTV.com. We are on it."
At about 11:10 CT the company tweeted, "Use our NFL Sunday Ticket on your app store to stream if you can't log in to http://directv.com"
Customers paid up to $300 to be able stream Sunday Ticket games.
