KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Google is still working to get its ultra-high speed fiber network online in Kansas City.
While that installation continues, a 12-member innovation team from both sides of the state line is working to figure out the best ways to use Google Fiber once it's deployed.
The team was chosen by the mayors of Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas and its job is to get the maximum benefit for both cities.
Mike Burke said they are "concentrating on specific areas of education, of health care, of neighborhoods and of entrepreneurial and investment opportunities.
Even the innovation team doesn't know exactly when Google Fiber will go online. An announcement is expected after the first of the year.
