KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The CEO of an online security company says the new Google fiber will help bring more companies and more jobs to Kansas City.
Symantec CEO Enrique Salem gave a keynote speech at Johnson County Community College.
Symantec is one of the largest makers of security software.
He said he believes the Google fiber is going to be a great addition to the metro.
"My expectation is that this notion of having high-speed broadband available to everybody is going to give rise to lots of start-ups and I wouldn't be surprised if you see some pretty big companies get created as a result of this,” said Salem.
Google fiber promises to deliver Internet up to 100 times faster than what we have now.
