COLWICH, Kansas - Five-year-old rural Colwich boy who was pulled from a small pond on his neighbor's land has died from his injuries.

Mason Medlam, who was severely autistic, was found in the pond on Tuesday. He died Thursday at Via Christi Hospital, the hospital said.

Investigators say Mason got out of his house Tuesday morning and walked a few hundred yards to a neighbor's property, where he fell into the pond.

Authorities say his death was an accident.
