KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Chamber of Commerce was in the nation's capitol last week to push for a project outside the city limits.
The National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility in Manhattan, Kan., is not currently funded in the president's budget proposal.
Chamber members met with the Department of Homeland Security in hopes of getting the project off the ground.
Lawmakers on both sides of the state line say they are fairly sure the project will eventually be completed.
