OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - A 20-year-old woman from Fairway died when the car she was driving ran off U.S. 69 Highway south of 167th Street in Johnson County and plunged into the Blue River.
Anousha Ann Shirazi's body was pulled from the vehicle by divers from the Overland Park Police underwater rescue team Sunday afternoon. A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper driving in the area saw tracks leading to the ravine Sunday afternoon and began investigating.
He quickly saw Shirazi's car upside down in the water and called for help.
Authorities are not sure when the crash happened.
