Two Kansas State fans seriously hurt in pedicab crash in Arizona after Fiesta Bowl

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Two K-State fans from Kansas who were in Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl were seriously injured early Friday morning in an accident involving a car and a pedicab in Scottsdale.

The accident happened just 3 a.m., according to a statement from the Scottsdale Police Department.

The pedicab, carrying Great Bend, Kan., residents Cody Clark and Michael Tysver, was struck from behind by a Ford sedan, according to police.

Clark was listed Friday morning in very serious condition with severe head trauma, according to Scottsdale police. Tysver was in stable condition with a spinal injury.

The pedicab driver, was treated and released from the hospital.

The driver of the sedan, identified as Joseph Spano, was arrested for DUI, endangerment and aggravated assault. He was awaiting arraignment late Friday morning, the statement from police said.
