WINFIELD, Kan. - An escaped Kansas inmate is back behind bars after police arrested him Wednesday morning.
Inmates Frank Crutchfield, 48, and Robert Cook, 52, escaped from the Winfield Correctional Facility Saturday, June 16. Cook is still missing.
Crutchfield, pictured on the left, was apprehended by Wichita Police Department officials after a tip from Crimestoppers.
Enforcement Apprehension and Investigations (EAI) unit of the Kansas Department of Corrections authorities are escorting Crutchfield back to the Winfield Correctional Facility for interviewing.
Police officials found the truck Crutchfield and Cook used to escape Sunday morning, 15 miles north of Winfield. It is believed that the men then stole a City of Douglass vehicle, described as a dark blue 2006 GMC Sierra with a Kansas license tag of 74914.
Cook, pictured on the right, is described as 5 foot 10 inches tall, weighing about 225 pounds, with gray hair, hazel eyes and a gray beard. Officials request anyone with information on Cook or the vehicle contact law enforcement immediately.
