LAWRENCE, Kan. - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Lawrence, Kan., Monday morning.
According to Sgt. Trent McKinley with the Lawrence Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:10 a.m. near 7th and New York streets.
The death is being investigated by the Douglas County coroner and the Lawrence Police Department. Investigators from the BNSF Railway, which owns the train involved, were also on the scene.
