WICHITA, Kan. - A wounded Army Veteran's service dog was killed along Interstate 135 in Park City after being stolen by two unknown suspects.

The dog, a brown Doberman named Red, was taken from Ryan Newell at a car wash on 61st and Hydraulic just after 8 p.m. Friday.

"We feel sympathy for the victim, obviously he's gone through enough trauma in his life then to add this on top of it," Sgt. Gavin Anspaugh said. "We try to add every effort to assist him and solve the case."

Police are asking for the public to help find the two unknown suspects who were described as a white male, with a medium build and a groomed beard and a white female.

They were last seen in a silver Ford pickup with 60-day tags on it.
