ODESSA, Mo. - A 71-year-old Odessa, Mo., woman will soon have her moment in the national spotlight. Nancy Flynn was featured in a 41 Action News story earlier this month and now she will appear on "The Steve Harvey Show."

In early December, Flynn fought off a man who attacked her in her driveway after demanding money. She told 41 Action News the man pushed her to the ground and started smashing her face in the cement. Flynn said she then kicked him in the groin, beat him with a wooden club and pepper-sprayed the attacker before he ran off.

After that story aired on 41 Action News, Flynn said "The Steve Harvey Show" asked her to make an appearance on the talk show. Last week, Flynn and her son flew to Chicago for a taping of the show. Flynn said she enjoyed her appearance and that Harvey presented her with a surprise, which she would not disclose.

Flynn said the episode is set to air in the coming weeks.
