PHOENIX (AP) - The suspect in the Tucson shooting rampage has been brought from Arizona back to the Missouri prison facility where he'll undergo more psychological treatment in an effort to make him mentally fit for trial.
The Bureau of Prison's website showed Thursday morning that Jared Lee Loughner was being held at the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Mo.
Loughner was brought to Tucson from Missouri on Sept. 26 for a court hearing. A judge ordered Loughner's four-month stay in Springfield to be extended by another four months, but he stayed in Tucson while defense attorneys filed appeals to try to keep him in Arizona.
Loughner has pleaded not guilty to 49 charges stemming from the Jan. 8 shooting that killed six people and injured 13, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
