NEW MADRID, Mo. - A small earthquake rattled southeastern Missouri Sunday night.
The United States Geological Survey reports the 2.3 magnitude temblor struck about 7:12 p.m. CT about four miles NNW of New Madrid, on the northern edge of Missouri’s boot heel.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
According to the USGS, most of Missouri’s earthquakes occur in the southeastern corner of the state, which is located in the New Madrid seismic zone.
