SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Authorities on Saturday night canceled an Amber Alert issued earlier in the day for a 1-year-old girl who was in the back seat of a car when it was stolen. They said Harmony Blue had been found and was safe with her family.
No other details about how the child was found were immediately available.
The child was abducted about 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the parking lot of the Save-a-Lot grocery store in the 1100 block of E. Commercial Street, police told 41 Action News. Investigators said the car had been left running.
KSPR-TV in Springfield reported a 4-year-old boy was also in the vehicle when it was stolen, but that he was dropped off a few blocks away shortly after the kidnapping.
The suspect was described as a white woman with blonde hair. She was driving the stolen vehicle, a gray 2002 Nissan Maxima with Missouri license plates YG6K5R.
