CORYDON, Iowa - A Missouri truck driver and two others were killed Tuesday in a fiery three-vehicle wreck in southern Iowa.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday four miles east of Corydon on Highway 2.

Investigators say 59-year-old Thomas Ryan, of Osceola, Missouri, was driving a semi westbound on 2 when he crossed the center line and collided with a minivan and a truck that were both headed east.

The collision knocked the minivan into a ditch on the north side of the highway.

Ryan’s semi continued a short distance along with the other truck into the same ditch. The semi overturned and caught fire.

Ryan and the driver of the truck, 24-year-old Kenneth Mathes Jr., of Plano, Iowa were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the minivan, 56-year-old Edna Downs, of Seymour, Iowa, was transported to an area hospital where she died.
