KANSAS CITY, Mo. - More young people in Missouri are having trouble finding work.
The number of young people out of jobs is at its highest since the Great Depression, according to the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
Right now, 109,000 people younger than 25 are out of school and out of a job.
The youth unemployment rate in Missouri is at 19 percent -- more than double the overall rate.
"There are a lot of jobs that want experience and not being able to have a job, doesn't give you experience. It's kind of hard to do what employers area asking you to do," said Matthew Sherman, 18.
The Topeka Capital Journal reports more than a quarter of Kansas youth are unemployed.
