GRANDVIEW, MO - Grandview recently purchased and installed powered cot systems for ambulances to reduce short and long-term injuries to Grandview firefighters.

The department has had three injuries caused by heavy lifting since 2009. The department has two ambulances, and both have the powered systems. Grandview is the first department in the metro to use the complete powered cot system.

Research shows the average claim per lifting injury costs $20,000 and could end a paramedic's career.
