LAURIE, Missouri - Two people from the Kansas City area died Saturday in separate incidents at the Lake of the Ozarks.

The Missouri Water Patrol says 24-year-old Corey Foley, of Raytown, disappeared Saturday afternoon near mile marker 54 in Laurie.

Witnesses said Foley jumped from an anchored boat and was headed to some bluffs when he began struggling in the water and did not resurface.

Search efforts Saturday were unsuccessful in finding him and his body was recovered about 8:30 a.m. Sunday by Water Patrol divers.

Crystal Gudde, 26, of Lee's Summit, was the victim of the other incident, which happened Saturday night at a dock near the 7 mile marker in Four Seasons.

Gudde was standing on the engine hatch, about to throw out a boat fender from a 29 foot boat trying to back into the dock.

The Patrol says the boat went from idle reverse to full-throttle reverse, propelling it into several other parked boats.

Gudde was struck by one of the boats and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 52-year-old operator of the boat suffered minor injuries.
