CRAIG, Mo. - A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper fatally shot a suspect in an altercation during a traffic stop Monday night, the patrol reports.
According to a statement from the patrol, the unidentified trooper stopped a southbound vehicle at Mile Marker 91 on Interstate 29 near Craig at about 8:16 p.m.
“A struggle ensued during the traffic stop and the trooper fatally shot the driver,” the statement said.
The driver has not been identified.
An investigation into the shooting is being headed up by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control.
