KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Missouri Senator Roy Blunt said Tuesday he cannot support President Obama's strategy.
In a telephone news conference, Blunt said he clearly wants diplomacy over any military strike.
Even with developments that Russia could oversee the removal of Syria's chemical weapons, Senator Blunt said he is still doubtful.
"I was skeptical this morning and I'm more skeptical this afternoon. The more caveats that the Russians add, the more the world community figures out how hard it is to get control of chemical weapons and do anything with them, even in a peaceful environment," Senator Blunt said.
Blunt added that he almost feels President Obama would prefer for Congress to hold off on any resolution until the world sees Syria will surrender its weapons.
