POPLAR BLUFF Mo. - Three suspects are back in custody Tuesday night after they escaped a Missouri jail Tuesday morning, according to reports.
The two inmates, and a third being held on assault charges, escaped the Butler County Jail after damaging the internal ceiling structure, according to a news release from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
By early Tuesday afternoon, the trio were back in custody after being located in a salvage yard where one of the suspects used to work.
The inmates are identified as Rodney Joe Green, Matthew Brandon Cook and Kade Reaves Stringfellow.
Cook and Stringfellow were being held for an unspecified murder, the release from the sheriff’s department said.
The Poplar Bluff Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol joined the Butler County Sheriff’s Office in the search for the three men.
