JOPLIN, Mo. - Members of the Kansas City Red Cross are in Joplin Monday being honored for their work during the 2011 deadly E-F 5 tornado.

The two operators of the mobile communications van took part in the Walk of Honor on Tuesday.

They arrived the morning after the twister destroyed part of the town

The van has a variety of cell phones, radios for emergency responders, a weather system and internet lines.

One of the men said May 22, 2011 feels like it happened yesterday.

"It will be nice to see how the city, rebuilt, how the city has grown, just to see how things are now from when were there originally to now." Chris Imgarten, an ERC operator

The operators plan to reunite with other workers they met last year.
