JOPLIN, Mo. - Thousands of people have flocked to Joplin since last year’s tornado that destroyed much of the city and killed 161 people.

In the days and weeks immediately after the twister, it was all volunteers hoping to lend a helping hand.

As the devastation began to dissipate, many have gone just to survey what was left behind.

Even a year after the tornado, cty leaders in Joplin are still accepting volunteers to help rebuild.

All you have to do is call the Americorp Volunteer Line in Joplin.

The number is (417) 627-8883.

There's no age requirement-- but if you're under the age of 18, they ask that you're accompanied by an adult.

When you call-- you'll be asked a series of questions that will focus on your skill level and availability.
