KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Kansas City charity with a history of helping others needs some help of its own this holiday season.
The Together Center has been helping families in need with Christmas gifts and food baskets for nearly 40 years, but donations are down this year. So far, the center will only be able to help 20 families.
There are 100 families on the waiting list that may not get Christmas gifts at all.
“We hate turning people away. Everybody’s not served by the city or by some of the larger agencies. The smaller agencies make up the difference,” said Gary Thomas of the Together Center.
If you can help the Together Center, call their office at 816-824-1394. They’re distributing the gifts and food on Sunday.
