LONDON - Duchess Kate and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, made their first public appearance with their newborn son.
The family came out of central London's St. Mary's Hospital to crowds of onlookers around 1:15 p.m. Kansas City time Tuesday.
Kate held their son when initially walking out of the hospital and then handed him off to William.
They walked over to the media and talked for a couple minutes before going back inside.
Just moments later, they got into a car and William drove his family home.
Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, paid a visit for the first time a couple hours before.
The baby was born Monday at 8:24 a.m. Arizona time. The child is third in line to the British throne.
Earlier Tuesday, Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, also paid a visit to their new grandchild.
Carole Middleton beamed and said the baby was "absolutely beautiful."
