KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas Citians who attend the All-Star Fan Fest that continues almost until game time Tuesday evening, July 10, may have to scrounge for nearby parking spots.
According to the Kansas City, Mo., website, there are 1,000 parking spots in the underground Barney Allis Plaza garage adjacent to the Bartle Hall/Convention Center complex, where Fan Fest is being held.
If the Allis Plaza garage is full, attendees can try to find a spot in one of the downtown surface lots.
Alternatively, people can buy a $3 park-and-ride ticket at the West Bottoms Garage near Kemper Arena, at 16th and Genessee streets. Buses will run approximately every 15 minutes. Fans can also park along the route of the Main Street MAX bus and take it to the Fan Fest site. The Main Street MAX route runs from Waldo (74th Terrace and Wornall) on its southern end to the City Market (3rd and Walnut streets) on its northern end. It travels along Main Street from 51st to 29th streets with various stops in between.
The cost for the MAX bus is $1.50 per ride. Those who buy a park-and-ride ticket can also use it ride the MAX and regular ATA bus routes throughout the day.
