KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Grand Slam Fan Jam at Barney Allis plaza had fewer All Star fans than expected Sunday afternoon, some say record breaking temperatures are to blame.
Rod and Dianna Huttmann decided to ignore the heat and enjoy the live music and free entertainment. They sat under a tent as Karma played on stage. They were surrounded by empty benches and an empty dance floor.
"It’s like a once in a lifetime experience and we didn't want to pass it up, we wanted to come," Rod Huttmann said.
The Fan Jam continues until 4:00 Sunday night. The event is free to the public.
