KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Some of the Royals took the day off to help Joplin, Missouri.
A number of players and staff worked with Habitat for Humanity volunteers to build homes for victims of the Joplin tornado.
They're building five homes, in what's known as "The Royals Neighborhood" in Joplin.
This is part of the club's ongoing recovery and rebuilding effort, after the F5 tornado ripped through Joplin in May of 2011, killing 161 people.
