KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Bob Davis is stepping down from his role as a broadcaster with the Kansas City Royals after 16 years, according to Fox Sports Kansas City.
“I just felt I needed to spend more time at home,” Davis told FOXSportsKansasCity.com.
Davis will continue in his role as the voice of the University of Kansas, according to the report. He is in his 29th season with the Jayhawks.
“I’ve had a good run with the Royals but as you can imagine,” he told FoxSportsKansasCity.com, “doing both the Jayhawks and the Royals doesn’t allow you much of an off-season.”
