KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Fred White, who longtime Kansas City Royals fans will remember as a play-by-play announcer during the team's golden years, has died.
The Royals announced Wednesday that White died from complications from melanoma. Over a 40-year career with the team, White worked as an announcer and director of broadcast services.
No details have been released about funeral arrangements.
