KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Royals will begin the 2013 season on April 1 in Chicago, with first pitch coming at 3:10 p.m.
The team announced game times for all 162 of their games of the upcoming season on Thursday.
For the 81 home games, standard times are 7:10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 6:10 p.m. on Saturdays and 1:10 p.m. on Sunday.
There are a few exceptions to those rules, though.
The home opener is set for Monday, April 8 at 3:10 p.m. against the Minnesota Twins. Other special start dates are as follows:
-- A 1:10 start on Memorial Day, May 27 vs. St. Louis
-- A 1:10 start on July 4 vs. Cleveland and a 1:10 start on Labor Day, September 2 vs. Seattle
-- The Royals host four 1:10 weekday contests: May 2 vs. Tampa Bay, June 12 vs. Detroit, August 14 vs. Miami and September 5 vs. Seattle.
-- Kansas City’s game on Saturday, June 8 vs. Houston is scheduled for a 6:15 start.
--Saturday home contests on May 25 vs. Los Angeles, June 22 vs. Chicago and July 6 vs. Oakland will start at 1:10 p.m.
