KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A new report from Bloomberg.com shows the Kansas City Royals rank near the bottom of the league in team valuation.
According to the new numbers , the Royals are worth $540 million. Only the Tampa Bay Rays are worth less; Bloomberg values that franchise at $530 million.
The report does rank the Royals first in one category. Of all the teams in Major League Baseball, the Royals gain the most from revenue sharing. The team gains $36 million in the deal.
The team the report says is worth the most will come as no surprise to fans. Bloomberg says the New York Yankees are worth $3.28 billion.
