KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Royals have parted ways with fireballer Jeremy Jeffress. The right-handed reliever was traded to Toronto for cash considerations. He had been designated for assignment on November 2.
The Royals acquired Jeffress in the Zack Greinke trade. They hoped they could find a way to harness his powerful fastball. However, the 25-year old never got on track in Kansas City. In 2012, he posted a 6.75 ERA over 13 appearances. For his career, Jeffress is 2-1 with a 4.89 ERA over 37 games.
