KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Royals continue to stock up on outfield depth. For the second time in a week, they have inked a Major League veteran to a minor league contract. Xavier Nady has signed on for the 2013 season.

The 34-year old has played 11 seasons in the Major Leagues. He has a career batting average of .270 with 101 home runs and 406 RBI in 939 games. The right-hander posted a .305 average with 25 home runs and 97 RBI in 2008. His numbers have fallen off since then. He hit just .184 while appearing in just 59 games in 2012. He split last season between the Nationals and Giants.

Earlier in the week, the Royals signed speedster Willy Taveras to a minor league deal.
