MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State hoops received some love from the Big 12 conference on Monday.
Wildcats senior guard Rodney McGruder won the Big 12 Player of the Week award for the second time in his career. McGruder shined in his hometown of Washington, D.C. on Saturday when K-State played at George Washington. The K-State guard finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a 65-62 win.
McGruder is averaging a team-high 12.9 points per game on 40.2 percent shooting. He’s coming on strong, averaging 17.7 points and 8.3 rebounds in his last three games.
K-State is now 7-1. The Wildcats will have a big challenge on Saturday when they return to the court. They play against No. 10 Gonzaga in Seattle at KeyArena. The game tips off at 8 p.m.
