LAWRENCE, Kan. - The week is starting out on a positive note for former Bishop Miege star Travis Releford. The Kansas Jayhawks senior guard and Kansas City, Mo. native on Monday was named the Big 12 Player of the Week.
Releford led No. 10 Kansas to wins against Washington State and St. Louis in the CBE Classic at Sprint Center. He averaged 20 points and shot 65 percent from the field, which helped him win the CBE Classic Most Valuable Player award.
This is the second time Releford has been named Big 12 Player of the Week. He received the honor last January.
The Jayhawks host San Jose State on Monday night at 8 p.m.
