SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Only one school in the country can claim to have signed the No. 1 overall football recruit in the country on national signing day.
That school is the University of Missouri.
Mizzou landed Dorial Green-Beckham on Wednesday morning. The 6-foot-6, 220 pound wide receiver made the announcement in front of more than 1,000 cheering students at Hillcrest High School in Springfield, Mo.
Green-Beckham chose Mizzou over Arkansas, Oklahoma, Alabama and Texas. He said he was excited to stay close to home and help the Tigers transition better into the SEC.
The Mizzou bound receiver set a national receiving record during his career at Hillcrest High with 6,447 receiving yards. He broke the state record with 2,233 yards on 19 catches with 24 touchdowns. Green-Beckham has 72 career touchdowns, which is also a state record.
