COLUMBIA, Missouri - Derrick Washington has been permanently suspended from the University of Missouri football team.
In a statement posted on their website , the Mizzou athletic department said Washington would not be allowed back on the football team and that his athletic scholarship would not be affected if he remains enrolled at the school.
Washington was charged this week with a class C felony charge for deviate sexual assault. A former tutor accused him of attacking her inside her bedroom in July.
MU officials said in the statement they would not have any further comment on the issue.
