COLUMBIA, Mo. - A warning from the University of Missouri Police: Beware of phony football tickets.
The department says they found dozens of fake football tickets after Saturday's home game against Georgia, a news release from the MU News Bureau states.
The fake tickets are nearly impossible to detect.
"These fake tickets look as real as any produced by Mizzou,'' Capt. Brian Weimer of the MU Police Department said in the release. "The fake tickets even had the correct disclaimers on the back sides.
Mizzou officials say fans should buy tickets only from the university's ticket office or from mutigers.com, according to the release.
Fans take all the risk for tickets bought from sources other than the Mizzou Athletics Ticket Office, the release states.
