Chiefs sign four draft picks on first day of rookie camp

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - On the same day Chiefs rookie camp starts, the team received some good news about their new players.

They signed four of their eight draft picks on Friday. That includes running back Cyrus Gray, wide receiver Junior Hemingway, defensive tackle Jerome Long and wide receiver Devon Wylie.

Gray is listed at 5-foot-10, 198 pounds. The Chiefs drafted him in the sixth round. The DeSoto, Texas native had 632 carries for 3,298 yards with 30 touchdowns at Texas A&M.

The Chiefs drafted Hemingway in the seventh round. The 6-foot-1, 222 pounder played in 48 games at Michigan. The South Carolina native had 88 catches for 1,638 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Long also came to the Chiefs as a seventh-round pick. The Morro Bay, Calif. native is a 6-foot-5, 285 pound defensive tackle. Long played in 49 games at San Diego State, picking up 163 career tackles and nine sacks.

Wylie is a small, speedy receiver from Fresno State. The 5-foot-9, 186 pounder joined the Chiefs as a fourth round pick. He caught 98 passes for 1,327 yards with eight touchdowns in 44 games at Fresno State. The Granite Bay, Calif. native also had 41 punt returns for 553 yards with two touchdowns and 16 kickoff returns for 333 yards.
