LEAWOOD, Kan. - Andy Reid is officially the new head coach at Arrowhead.

Chiefs fans we spoke to Sunday said it is an exciting change for Kansas City.

“I think change is always good, and he has a lot to offer, and hopefully, he can get things together, and things will be better for the Chiefs,” Frank Weary of Lee’s Summit said.

“They have to do better than they did this year, certainly.  I think he'll get them back on track this year,” Tim Henderson of Marshall, Mo. said.

With the Super Bowl one month away and the NFL in the heat of the playoffs, fans said they hope sometime in the next few years they will be watching Reid and their team on the big screen at sports bars in January.

“I'm going to give him a little bit of time. The first year, I'm hoping for the best. I think it's going to take a couple years for his true talent to shine,” Weary said.

“If they can get everybody to play together and to gel, I think it's maybe a possibility,” Henderson said.

“I think we're going to be good next year. I don't think we're going to be in the playoffs. I'd like to see 2015, maybe rockin' the AFC home field advantage. I'd like to see a playoff win first. I'd like to see another Arrowhead win in regular season. That's where we have to start,” Ryan Bee of Prairie Village said.

Most importantly, fans said after a long, losing season, thanks to Andy Reid, they are ready to spend money to head back to Arrowhead to see the Chiefs play in person.

“I'm ready to get back out there and see what they can do, and see if we can make some improvements,” Henderson said.

The Chiefs will formally introduce Andy Reid Monday at a 1 p.m. news conference. We'll have live coverage beginning at 12:45 on 41 Action News and KSHB.com.
